Nick Jonas is the Icon for those fighting against Diabetes

The songwriter, singer, actor, and multi-instrumentalist, Nick Jonas developed the dreadful health condition Type 1 diabetes when he was only 13.

To manage the condition, Nick utilizes an insulin pump. Nick Jonas has not allowed the health issue to meddle with his busy and successful schedule. For this reason, Nick could be the icon for those folks who have been diagnosed with the terrible disease.

Nick admitted that it was a shock for him to discover that he had diabetes. He also recalled that he was healthy, active, and fit. However, after developing the disorder, Nick feels thirsty frequently, has to visit the washroom often, and started losing weight.

Fortunately, Nick’s control of the condition has permitted him to persist with his career and become a teen heartthrob. Together with his siblings, Joe and Kevin, Nick enjoyed a successful musical career as a member of Jonas Brothers.

Apart from a renowned pop singer, Nick appeared in several movies and shows for Disney Channel. For his performance in numerous stage musicals like “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying”, “Hairspray”, and “Les Miserables”, Nick Jonas earned rave reviews. However, his thoughts were for the other young folks with diabetes.

People aren’t always fortunate to have their friends and family alongside them. For that reason, Nick founded “Change for the Children Foundation”. The foundation raise awareness and money to assist children affected with diabetes. The youth icon has collaborated with an organization named Bayer Diabetes Care and he has become the ambassador to assist the young people in managing their diabetes. Nick has also given evidence in the Senate for promoting funding from the government in diabetes research.
